There are many organisations that have statutory, organisational and/or ethical responsibilities to manage the natural values within large tracts of land under their control. This can include commonwealth, state government and local governments, traditional land owners, public service providers and utilities, and agricultural operations. In addition to this there are a range of non-government organisations oriented towards conservation or land management that work with other landowners and government to improve natural resource management outcomes.
