Vale is a flagship project for the Swan Valley. Particular attention has been paid to landscape character and the level of detailing that reflects this wine growing region and relaxed and semi-rural character has been maintained. The landscape detailing includes hand cut stone, cobbles, character structures and rustic materials.
The clay based site is located in a high groundwater zone. The landscape design of the town centre includes a new feature lake, boardwalks, high density housing, retirement villages, private school, alfresco areas, cafes and retail in a main street environment.
The retention of existing vegetation and conservation category wetlands provides a balance to usable recreation areas. Multiuse corridors have been employed for access and habitat retention.
Water management and drainage catchment across the site has required careful consideration to preserve water quality to the adjacent Henley Brook catchment. This project contains a wide range of residential lot densities, three schools, two town centres and a major recreation facility all linked by an interconnected road and pedestrian path.
