Raffles Apartments

The redevelopment of the former Raffles Hotel has occurred creating a premium riverfront residential address which is set among three distinct landscape precincts. Landscape works include the conversion of a former car park to a public civic square that addresses the adjacent heritage listed buildings and the development of internal and private courtyards for residents.

The redevelopment of the neglected Swan River foreshore includes a new dual use path system, riparian planting, lighting, signage and grass areas for public use. Liaison with a significant number of government and environment authorities and local community interest groups has been undertaken as part of the landscape approval process.

The projects landscape design underwent significant consultation with numerous stakeholders, including the Swan River Trust, local council, local residents, local environmental groups and the Heritage Council. The landscape planting style is formal in nature and species selection match. The art deco building style of the existing precinct. Close liaison with the architect has located mature planting to maintain views. Landscape works to the central courtyard and private realm are located above underground parking.
