Hotham Park

Boddington, WA

Emerge were initially engaged by the Shire to deliver a creative and diverse nature play space on their foreshore that complimented a developing civic centre and youth precinct.

Along with the reinvention of the foreshore precinct with other facility projects such as a new skate park, pump track and exercise equipment, the opportunity arose to establish a comprehensive master plan, with consistent theming for the area to reconnect the town to the water. Working closely with councillors and community, Emerge produced a concept masterplan that considered all the desired Civic Precinct uses.

Having spent time in Boddington, Emerge were able to foster trust and establish positive relationships with key stakeholders, past designers and the community to deliver a concept masterplan that clearly demonstrated a path forward for implementation.

Emerge provided the Shire with a resolved masterplan for the civic and youth precinct that not only reconnects the townsite to the river, but also allows the project to continue into the implementation phase with community and key stakeholder confidence.

The result is an exciting new space that integrates quiet foreshore spaces with challenging nature play, flying fox, skate park, pump track, sports court and fitness hub. Boddington Foreshore is a rewarding, community driven project that provides impressive facilities for local residents and visitors to enjoy.

Emerge acknowledge the close collaboration to deliver this project by the Shire of Boddington, Skate Sculpture, Common Ground, Phase 3, Boddington Art Council Mosaic Group and the many benefactors who enabled this project to come to life.
